Many people are under the mistaken idea that they eat a balanced diet and that they do not need to supplement.  If you eat 3-5 fruits, 6-8 vegetables, 3 serves of protein, 1 serve of fish, 3 cups of brown rice, 2 pieces of bread, 3 serves of dairy every single day  and no fast food, then I would say you are one in a million and yes you do eat a balanced diet.  But if you are like the rest of the population and you skip meals, or just entirely skip food groups many days, then you need to really seriously consider supplementing your body because it will catch up to you in old age.  Consider it preventative maintenance, just like you would rust proof your car, you need to rust proof (deterioration) of your body.

  The first and most important nutrient your body needs is Water.  We are made up of over 70% water and without it we will surely die.  About 75% of the population is suffering from dehydration most of the time.  Again they think that coffee, tea, juices, soft drinks or cordial are the same just because they are liquid.  Wrong, they are metabolised by the body differently then pure clean water.  They do usually cause more harm as some of them are diuretics meaning they require you to drink more then the minimum 2 litres a day.  See the section on Water Quality for more details.
